Socks in progress

My poor neglected blog. Here is a photo of socks I am knitting for my grandchild. Cute, huh? They are actually a back burner project. I am also hard at work on a quilt, which I can't talk about yet. I am enjoying the process, though!

My husband is recovering from a broken collar bone. He fell down the stairs Thursday night. Poor guy, it is a slow process.

Artists Reception at San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles

I made an appearance at an reception today at the San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles. As I mentioned before, I have a quilt in the Tasty Too! Exhibit. But the big exhibit is Metamorphosis, a mostly wearable art exhibit. It is outstanding! See it if you can!

This is my quilt, "Cubism Meets Baltimore," hanging at the SJMQT. I feel so honored! It is an oldy but a goody.

The Metamorphosis exhibit had some great pieces. I was quite taken by this sweater attributed to Kaffe Fassett. There were other mind-blowing pieces, but I don't remember their names. Highly recommended!

I took this photo of the crowd. I didn't know anyone except for the curator, Deborah Corsini, whose memory I am grateful for. Also Yvonne Porcella was there. She probably doesn't remember me, but I have taken a class from her, plus I sat next to her at the last Dinner at Eight dinner in Long Beach. I saw her during the artists tour but then lost track of her. But there she is, in the red vest! I didn't notice until I posted this photo.

Bay Area Bingo

We have quilt-like art on the wall and a view of Sausalito harbor out the window. Life is good!

Tomorrow I will attend a reception at the San Jose Museum of Quilts And Textiles. It runs from 2 to 4. I'll be there because I have a quilt in the Tasty Too exhibit.

Old friends

Today I went out to lunch with these fine women. We all used to live on or near Farragut Street in the Northwood neighborhood of Irvine. Some still do! We all have kids about the same age. It was fun passing around photos and reminiscing. Clockwise from bottom left: Nancy, Beth, me, Betsy, Jeanne, and Brenda.

Piece sold at Whittier Art Gallery!

I was thrilled to learn that someone bought this piece from the Collaboration exhibit at the Whittier Art Gallery! It sold on the last day. I call it "Fear of Losing Marbles."

As happy as I am that someone liked it enough to buy it, I will miss it. I was fond of that one, and may have to make another iteration of it for myself. :-) Do you ever feel that way when one of your pieces sells?
