artful trip to colorado

Arrgh, I wish the photos would load in the order that I downloaded them. It's a pain in the neck trying to get them in the order that I would like. To heck with it - here's a hodge podge of photos from our trip to Colorado.

That's me at the top of the mountain when we took the gondola ride in Telluride. What a beautiful little town!
The raven is a gorgeous sculpture I saw in Park City, Utah.
The quilt is an update of my very first pattern, from 1994. It's called "Hidden Investments." The old quilt looked so dated, so I made this one. The pattern is available from Jukebox. They'll have a booth at this weekend's Rocky Mountain Quilt Festival in Loveland, Colorado. And the opportunity quilt from the show is from my pattern, "Heart Strings."

We saw this deer (or is it an elk?) in my father-in-law's neighborhood in Colorado Springs. He's shyly nibbling at the shrubbery.

The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, as featured in "The Shining."

One day we went to Cripple Creek. The big casinos are moving in, but there are still remnants of the rustic old mining town.
