Central NY - Some random shots

So nice to pay a visit to Central NY. Our adorable Sammy is in school now, but we get to see her at dinner.

Some of her artwork on the wall:
It's huge and beautiful in person!

This was a hot ticket last night. Martine and I got to see Neil deGrasse Tyson speak at Hamilton College in Clinton. He was fantastic! Science rock star.

Chittenango Falls, on the way to Cazenovia on a rambling drive.

Artful tour of Cincinnati

After Chicago, we stayed in Cincinnati. My first time there! Dave has heard of the Museum Hotel, so we stayed there. Two floors of art. I was in heaven!

This floor changed when people walked on it.

A skull made of wire.

Body parts in the bathroom tile! Notice the black fixtures and the rubber ducky.

These little plastic men were sandwiched between glass at the check-in desk.

Can't forget this cool sculpture, carved from books!

Last view of Cincinnati as we got outta town.

A visit to NY, June 2015

I have taken so many photos of our visit to NY, that I don't know where to start. So bear with me while I post the best ones.
Sammy just turned five, so she opened some gifts while we were there.
Holding the kitty I just made her.
Wearing the dress I made her. Oliver and S, Croquet Dress size 5.
Green and Pink are instant best friends.

Artful tour of Oregon

Here are a few random shots from our trip to Portland last week. The rooster was in the lobby of the hotel we stayed at in Eugene. 5th Avenue Inn was the name I think.

My friend Vickie also had a quilt in the Coming Up Roses exhibit at Quilt Knit Stitch, "Sleeping Beauty". Isn't it beautiful? I also took a photo of a quilt I liked by Berene Campbell, "Rapunzel Rapunzel." It was in one of the many other exhibits.

There's a photo taken on the Max as i crossed the river between The convention center and our hotel. We stayed at the Heathman.
And another photo taken of the piano at Pioneer Square.

The last photos are of the harbor view from our tiny hotel room in San Francisco, and some of the favorite things I found at Quilt! Knit! Stitch! Valdani threads and a packet of cool fabric. I will add the name of the designer later.

Bay Area Bingo

We have quilt-like art on the wall and a view of Sausalito harbor out the window. Life is good!

Tomorrow I will attend a reception at the San Jose Museum of Quilts And Textiles. It runs from 2 to 4. I'll be there because I have a quilt in the Tasty Too exhibit.

more quilts from the American Folk Art Museum

Here are more quilts that I saw at the American Folk Art Museum in NYC.

Can you tell which ones are fabric and which ones are paper?

Okay, this one is made from Tyvek envelopes. It really was beautiful.

Off topic, I was a docent at a home tour in Orange, California, yesterday! Thanks to my friend Peggy for getting me in. It was fun but tiring. I got to talk to groups about the back parlor AND a sewing room at a beautiful Craftsman home.

visit to falmouth, massachusetts

I went to Falmouth to see an exhibit of  Salley Mayor's work at Highfield Hall in Falmouth. Salley was gracious enough to invite me to her studio afterward.
She is a very talented fiber artist. Her studio was a delight to see. with whimsical works in progress and finished ones up on her walls. Thank you, Salley! Her blog is http://weefolkstudio.com
Check out her "Birds of Beebee Woods "

We wanted to stay in Mystic. CT, but ended up staying in Stonington nearby, instead. It is a quiet but charming village.
I am almost all done with photos from this trip.

Sagamore

Bear with me. I'm trying to finish the photos from our trip to NY, and I am almost done. This is fall color along the way there.
Sagamore is a resort on Lake George in NE NY.

 There is an indoor pool.

We rented a boat for an hour, Dave drove.
 Breakfast on the veranda.

This might be my favorite photo from the whole trip. She is holding a piece of bacon.

Mystery berries

We encountered these at a B and B in Falmouth, Massachusetts. Anyone know what they are?
