Quilting Arts Magazine has Grandpa T!

I was flipping through the latest Quilting Arts Magazine, and I was thrilled to see that "Grandpa T and his Salad" was included in an article about Quilt Alliance's Animals We Love. Page 27, October-November issue. Woohoo, I am so surprised!

My quilt is on tv!

I was watching the latest Quilting Arts show over breakfast this morning. Jamie and Leslie were guests and were discussing how to enter shows, and there was a slide show of many of the quilts in the 2014 Reflections exhibit, curated by Dinner at Eight. So anyway, it was a thrill to see my "Saffron in the Park" on TV! Nice way to start the day.
I know, the colors look weird.

Another Quilting Arts Magazine appearance

I was happy to discover that the February-March issue of Quilting Arts Magazine contains a photo of my quilt, "Terinaki on a Stick," which is part of the What's for Dinner special exhibit in 2014.

Quilting Arts

I found out a few days ago that the quilt I made for the Reflections exhibit in Houston will be included in an article in the Fall Quilting Arts Magazine! The name of the quilt is "Saffron in the Park, " and it was inspired by photos my friend Becky Milano took of Christo's Gates in Central Park. This is a detail.

hi from mid-state NY

We're currently in Hamilton, New York, visiting with my daughter, son-in-law and new granddaughter. We're having a grand time! Samantha is getting to know her Grandpa Cooksey. The weather's been delightful so far - and I hear it's in the 100's at home! Sounds like Southern California is finally getting summer weather.

I promise to post some trip photos soon, but I wanted to say that I was happily surprised to find Quilting Arts on our hotel TV this morning! It hasn't been available on our PBS stations at home, sad to say, and I enjoyed watching it as we got dressed and ready for the day. There was also a knitting program, called "Knitting Daily" I think, also by Interweave Press. I need to contact KOCE and KCET about these great programs!

More photos soon. We went to the Farmer's Market in Hamilton, where my daughter and husband have a produce stand on Saturdays.
